A few words from Georgia about Bumi Sehat Birth Center in Ubud, Bali...

Just outside of Ubud’s city centre in Nyuh kuning, stands a nonprofit birthing centre built by Ibu (Mother) Robin Lim: a safe place where women from all over Indonesia can come and connect to their own personal power and divine inner wisdom, through their birth experience and beyond.  Robin’s message is clear; birthing babies is beautiful, and the women of Indonesia need to have a safe place where they can be free to birth in a healthy, gentle and natural way.

“Our mission is to provide access to quality healthcare to families; and kind, hygienic and culturally appropriate childbirth to traditionally underrepresented populations.”

In Indonesia, the average family earns the equivalent of $8 a day, according to the International Monetary Fund. But a baby delivery costs about $70 at a hospital, and a caesarian section can cost as much as $700.  Bumi Sehat offers the support, love and guidance Indonesian women require to stand proud and healthy in their bodies and their birth stories, free of charge.

Bumi Sehat is currently building an incredible new facility, where they will continue to advocate for women in the most thoughtful way. The new clinic is designed to be more than three times the size of the current clinic.  It will be designed attune to the way that midwives, doctors and nurses practice here in Indonesia.

Building is underway!

I have such a deep appreciation for what Robin is achieving here.  My heart is full of love and dedication.  I am so grateful to be able to contribute to such a worthy cause.

Built For This Baby will be hosting fundraising and awareness events throughout the 2016/2017 year.  Stay tuned for more details on how you can be involved.
